Staffordshire police officers crash their vehicles 48 times in a year - in their own CAR PARKS
Police officers must be used to putting their lives on the line while doing their duties.
But some officers at Staffordshire Police don't even seem to be able to make it out of the car park without having a prang - they crashed police cars within their own car parks nearly 50 times in the space of a year.
The 48 insurance claims were among 487 made by Staffordshire Police in 2011/12, with 45 involving officers who crashed into the back of a car while 61 involved 'errors of misjudgement' on the road.
Since 2006 the force has had 347 accidents in police station car parks resulting in an insurance claim, Staffordshire Police Authority heard at a meeting this week.
